Are you looking for a unique location for your wedding in a beautiful environment?
The Chinese Teahouse “the Cry of the Dragon” is an official wedding location in Groningen. After the official ceremony there is no need to change locations: We can provide for your reception and/or party. And, of course, the gardens of the Hortus form a perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. We offer a warm environment with wonderful atmosphere. You are also welcome to arrange an after-hours, evening celebration.
Fees for Wedding Parties
The fees for the use of the Hortus for weddings given here include entrance fees for the wedding party and guests.
- Monday-Friday: € 200-
- Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evening: € 225-
- Saturday: € 250-
NB: These fees do not includes costs imposed by the city or costs associated with any reception or party or the ceremony itself.
Hortus + newlyweds = a beautiful picture
Wedding photos can be made in the gardens of the Hortus. It is not necessary to hold the wedding here to make use of this option.
The Hortus and, especially, the Chinese Garden are popular places to take photos. The fee for taking pictures of a bridal party (maximal 6 people including bridesmaids/flower girls) is € 50,00.
Additional individuals accompanying the wedding party for the photo shoot are required to pay the entrance fee to the Hortus. Groups of family members and friends (including the wedding party) of at least 10 persons receive a 10% discount on the entrance fee. It is not necessary to make reservations for a photo shoot.
