Guided Tour ‘Go Wild’
12-05-19
On Sunday 12 May at 13:30 pm a guided tour “Wild plants and gardens” will be held in the Hortus.
Both the Laarmantuin, begun in the 1930s, and the newly established Hondsrugtuin are examples of wild plant gardens. The plants that grow here have not been subject to modification by plant breeders. Many of the plants in the Laarmantuin are, in fact, threatened with extinction and have been placed on the “Red list” of endangered plants.
Wild plants play an important role in the other gardens of the Hortus, too. The explosion of colorful wild plants, especially in May, is the inspiration for this guided tour. Sign up for the tour and come and enjoy the woods and gardens carpeted with flowers.
