Horticulturists showcase their work in the Floriade Gardens

Colorful perennial borders, conifers and heather adorn these gardens. Each garden shows the products of a grower who participated in the Floriade of 1992. Many varieties of hostas, lilies, astilbes, peonies and fall asters are among the flowers featured here.

The Floriade World Horticultural Exhibition has been held in a Dutch city every ten years since 1960. After the Floriade in Zoetermeer (1992), permanent locations were sought for the gardens, and the Hortus Haren was chosen as a place where the gardens could flourish.
